We listen to worship together and share a live preach. We also run separate kids work and youth bible studies during the service. Please contact the office for more details. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed-youtube wp-block-embed is-type-video is-provider-youtube wp-embed-aspect-16-9 wp-has-aspect-ratio\"><div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\">\n<iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"Sunday 13th September \u2013 Closing\" width=\"500\" height=\"281\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/uHBUvDzw6OE?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe>\n<\/div><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<h2 id=\"reflections\">Reflections for the Week<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>In v27-31 we see five prohibitions &amp; admonitions \u2013 aka \u2018Do nots\u2019&#8230;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>v27-28&#8230;<\/strong><br><em><strong>DO NOT<\/strong> withhold good from those to whom it is due, when it is in your power to act.<br><strong>DO NOT<\/strong> say to your neighbour, \u201cCome back tomorrow &amp; I\u2019ll give it to you\u201d when you already have it with you.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Do the right thing at all times to all people, if they deserve it!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This seems wrong to us but Solomon is not encouraging us to be mean to people who do not deserve fair treatment. Instead he is trying to ensure that we do not unfairly treat the deserving and innocent, thus coming under the Lord\u2019s discipline.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Grace teaches us that we should teach all people fairly, as God dealt fairly with us. Some people like exercising power over others because they can! They like to \u2018lord it over others\u2019 but that\u2019s not us!..<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Jn. 13:35<\/strong> <em>&#8220;By this shall all men know that you are my disciples that you love one another.&#8221;<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Jn. 3:16<\/strong> <em>&#8220;God loved the world.&#8221;<\/em> So should we!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>v29-30<\/strong>&#8230;<br><em><strong>DO NOT <\/strong>plot harm against your neighbour, who lives trustfully near you.<br><strong>DO NOT <\/strong>accuse anyone for no reason\u2014 when they have done you no harm.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>We may not harm or falsely accuse others, but don\u2019t hang out with those who will.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Pr. 1 &amp; 1 Cor. 15:33 both warn: Do not be misled: &#8220;Bad company corrupts good character.&#8221;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>v31<\/strong>&#8230;<br><strong>DO NOT<\/strong> envy the violent or choose any of their ways. Violent = oppressor, bully.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>It\u2019s easy to look at the wicked &amp; envy their success, wealth, possessions etc. Why not? See v32&#8230;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2>Psalm 121<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>1 I lift up my eyes to the mountains\u2014 where does my help come from? 2 My help comes from the Lord, the Maker of heaven and earth.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>3 He will not let your foot slip\u2014 he who watches over you will not slumber; 4 indeed, he who watches over Israel will neither slumber nor sleep.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>5 The Lord watches over you\u2014 the Lord is your shade at your right hand; 6 the sun will not harm you by day, nor the moon by night.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>7 The Lord will keep you from all harm\u2014 he will watch over your life; 8 the Lord will watch over your coming and going both now and forevermore.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>A warm welcome to you!
